On August 8, FAB presented Miss Interrupted, an exhibition by photographer Goran V. Popovski at Artro Gallery in Luštica Bay.
Originally created as a cover editorial for FAB magazine, the series is presented in a gallery setting for the first time and will remain on view through August 21st.

Inspired by Belgrade’s nightlife and club scene, Miss Interrupted captures the process a woman goes through before a night out - from preparation and transformation to the moment when, as photographer Goran V. Popovski puts it, she “steps out and conquers the night.”

Miss Interrupted developed through the creative collaboration between Goran V. Popovski and FAB Editor-in-Chief & Creative Director Zina Pusep. Speaking to Radio Tivat, Popovski reflected on their long-standing communication and shared sensibility, which became an important foundation for creating the story.

In her opening speech, Zina Pusep emphasized that Miss Interrupted was more than an exhibition. She described the event as an extension of FAB’s wider mission to champion regional talent shaping the region’s fashion, art and creative industries.

She also highlighted the value of long-standing partnerships between The Collection Magazine, FAB and their partners - Luštica Bay, Artro Gallery and Hotel Centrale Luštica Bay by Angsana, creating opportunities to extend these relationships beyond the pages of the magazines.

For Popovski, the project is also closely connected to his broader interest in portraying women and their position in contemporary society. “The main focus of my artistic work is women,” he told Radio Tivat, adding that in a world where women are still too often placed second, he prefers to place them first.

The title itself carries another layer of Popovski’s approach. “My motivation is always to interrupt something, to shock a little,” he told Radio Tivat. That sense of interruption runs throughout the series: polished fashion imagery meets something more psychological and cinematic, creating photographs that suggest a narrative rather than simply documenting clothes.

Bringing Miss Interrupted into Artro Gallery gave that narrative a different space in which to exist. Removed from the scale and sequence of a magazine, the photographs become individual works, allowing details, gestures and atmosphere to take on greater presence.

For Artro Gallery Creative Director Kristina Kestner, this shift also opens a conversation about the place of fashion photography within contemporary art. She described how photography created within a fashion context can take on an independent artistic life when presented in a gallery.

The collaboration with Luštica Bay and Artro Gallery extends that idea beyond the magazine itself. Representing Luštica Bay, Kristina Škanata spoke about the connection between fashion and art at the destination and expressed the hope that a future FAB cover could also be created at Luštica Bay.

For Popovski, the physical experience of seeing the photographs exhibited has its own significance. He described to Radio Tivat the “special charm” of encountering his work in person - particularly when images originally conceived for an editorial are given the scale and space of an exhibition.

The creative team behind Miss Interrupted includes photographer Goran V. Popovski, model Vanja Dragojević, styling by UROHS, make-up by Milan Bauranov, hair by Zvezdana Svetozarević and nails by Yanna Nails, with fashion by Sanda Simona, Studio NO-id and UROHS.

On view at Artro Gallery, Luštica Bay until August 21st.
